Description

Ok so this is sea-processed piece of botteglass wrapped in silver-plated whire. (Yes I went to a beach on a cold, autumn sunday expressly for that)
A Christmass gift for my sister-in-law.
This is my first time working with silver-conated whire. The glass was a little bugger too since it is not flat, it warps. Maybe it is not that visible in the picture but it is a real mess to wrap a hard whire around.
These whires are harder than the ones I`ve previously worked with, so now my fingers hurt, and my nails are a mess.
Does anyone have any tips to avoid that? When I watch the whire wrapping tutorials, the ladies there have such nice, manicured nails. How the hell do they manage keeping them like that? My thumbnails and fingerpads are silently cursing me.

A tip-when Shar, Kark and I do wirework, we usually actually wear special gloves. Kark's, expecially, have only the thumb and index unexposed, and enabling those two to do the fine work; the others are free in a biker's glove kind of mesh.

Also, use prenty of moisturizing lotion-silver is harder to work with for it tends to be hard on the hands. I prefer steel, and so does Kark, for that very reason. (Shar is allergic to silver.)

Hope this helps :P
